Quotable is an open-source quote API: random quotes, search by author/tag, and rich metadata (tags, author bio, length). It was a popular keyless choice for quote widgets and writing prompts.

api.quotable.iois currently unreachable (connection fails on both/randomand/quotes/random). The project is open-source — if you need this functionality, you can self-host it, or check the site’s other quote/word APIs.
