Destiny The Game

Overview

Bungie’s Destiny 2 Platform API exposes the game’s data — characters, inventory, activities, and the Manifest (item database). Some public endpoints work without a key (the Manifest was accessible keyless in our test, verified); full access needs a free API key.

Authentication

• Register at bungie.net → Create App in the developer portal → API key.
• Send it as the X-API-Key header.
• Some public endpoints work keyless (Manifest verified) — most require a key.

Rate Limits & Notes

• Per-app rate limits (~25 requests/15 seconds per key, see docs).
• The Manifest (definitions DB) is the foundation — download and parse it for item/activity data.
• OAuth adds user-scoped access (characters, inventory).
• ErrorCode: 1 means success in responses.
